Each arm is 2.5 ft wide, so from either side its middle is 15 inches away and the L can fill a corner you walk around. Filled to the brim, the 5.5 ft L takes 20 bags of 1.5 ft³ and the 7 ft L takes 28.

Mark the outside footprint on the ground before assembly, including any legs or protruding corners. Leave a route for carrying bags, reaching the plants and maintaining nearby beds.
